I'm having troubles understanding and reproducing your issue.
Are you using one of your shift as an alternative caps-lock?

Can you please post a `uzbl -p` of this combo?
If you're doing zz, shouldn't it come out
as the 'Zz' command? That is the behavior here...
But I may be lacking some particular about your environment.
