I am starting to have some serious performance issues
I would go with 2008 R2 Standard (it's 64bit only). That way you can go past
4GB of RAM if you'd like (up to 32GB). Your server's processor will need to
support a 64bit OS to use it. I don't know if there are issues running SM on a
desktop OS like Win 7 Pro.
