I have done this too, but I'm really hoping Mo can pass at home. His whole life was meds and surgeries and needles and clinics and shelters, I don't want his last moments to be the same. He left my bed in the night and had an accident on the floor. I have laid potty pads on his spot and put him

Jen,   I agree, being there with them helps - both them & us, no matter where this happens (home or at the vet's office). I have found a caring, local mobile vet who will come to the house when it is time to let them go, instead of having to take my kitties for their 'last car ride' vet visit.

AWESOME ! ! ! There should be MORE of them. I'd pay the extra "convenience" fees, to protect my fur-babies from the stress of going in. The comfort felt of being at HOME ! I think if we approach our vets with the idea, and a waiver because of concerns of being sued, this could really catch on!

Dear Bob,   I am so sorry Jelly crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge early Monday morning. Please know that you gave him all of your love while you could.  I know the pain of feeling guilty that I had waited too long too, but there is no clear 'sign' for us to know when it is time to assist them

I hope little Mo passes soon. Not that I want Mo to be gone but I want you to be able to actually grieve his loss rather than be subjected to the pain of wondering each day if THIS is the day and worrying if he is going to die while you are away from him. I don't know that they sense

You are so right. I have been with all my babies at the end and I know it made me feel much better knowing that if they needed me, I was there. And yes, they do know you are there and love them. Usually they take hold of me with their paws and hold on. I think it makes them feel more secure

Dear Bob, If you want to be sure Jelly is in your loving, comforting, protective arms- and not suffering, alone You can take Jelly in to the vet's, be WITH him, and set him free. My heart is hurting so much for you. Praying for you both- Jen ___
