I would appreciate any information from experienced Fjord breeders regarding
feeding weanlings through age 2. I have numerous books regarding horse
nutrition; however, they contain a huge range of advice. Unfortunately, none
of the information

Hi Carol,
I've visited the archives a couple of times today with no problems. I did a
search on bits and one on saddles and was pleased with how well the site
retrieved info from the archives! Good Luck.

Does anyone know of a local farm in the Ellensburg area that sells quality

I have not tried the Easyup buckles but I'm very pleased with Easycare's
Bare boots. The boots fasten with a secure bungee system instead of the
buckle system. The 2007 Bare has a stronger bungee and lower profile heel
strap. The Bares

Yes, I think I remember seeing on Easycare's website that the bungee system
can be used on epics also but I would confirm that with Easycare - Their
site has quite a few videos regarding boot application, replacement parts
etc

Jane,
Easy Care does make an Easy Dirt Skirt that is supposed to keep dirt and
gravel out of easyboots. I haven't needed it with the close fitting Bares
but it is listed on their website as a solution for dirt gravel.
Good Luck

Robin,
I like the Safe-T-Post caps http://www.cze.com/postcap/postcap.htm . They
are a flexible vinyl which makes for a snug fit. If you have horses that are
entertained by pulling the caps off, the manufacture recommends filling the
cap

Hello list,
I had bunion surgery in late December that kept me indoors and partial
weight bearing for 7 weeks, being an invalid forced me to catch up on indoor
projects such as website design. If you are interested, check out our

Amy,
I'm in central Washington State and my pasture is pretty lush right now. My
fjords go out to graze for 2 hrs in the a.m. and 2 hrs in the p.m. They are
not receiving any hay. They were slowly transitioned off of the hay and onto
pasture

Corinne at Willows Edge Farm offers a great service for listing fjord horses
for sale. I first became aware of her service on this list. It's easy, free
and it works.

Hi Kristie,
I agree with Curt Pierce's recommendation regarding Lewis' book on
nutrition. It is an excellent book and I refer to it often. Lewis cites
tables and requirements established by the National Research Council. The

I live in Washington State and during the months of March and April my

Thank you for sharing the info on the Happy Grazer nets. I have been feeding
with Cinch Chix (now Hay Chix) slow grazer nets for the past 6 months. I am
