Hello list,

For years I've been a fvwm user and I have a filemanager called Rodent,
(http://xffm.org which evolved from the filemanager for xfce versions 4.0
and 4.2). Currently I'm working on a new release and I've come up with a
problem which may be fvwm related.

On desktops 1-4, everything is fine, but on desktops 5-6 (out of 6
possible), gtk goes haywire trying to determine where to place the popup
menu or the tooltip window. A negative value is returned for the window
height. Gtk is using XGetWindowProperty() to retrieve the information and
sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. So maybe there is a race
condition with fvwm...

Furthermore, the problem is non-existant if I link the program with gtk2
instead of gtk3.

Any help on how to work around this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Fvwm compatibility with Rodent filemanager is paramount.

I'm not sure whether this is the appropriate list to post this query or
the fvwm-workers should be used instead. If this is the case, please let me
know and I will redirect the post.

TIA
