I would try booting off a live cd that has the xfs utils on it. That way you can get your drive sorted out without worrying about your OS getting in the way.--DavidOn 7/7/06,

Partimage works pretty well although not exactly as you described. It requires a linux server to serve the images I believe. There may be a way to use a livecd of some sort to do it locally as you described.Otherwise the not free/opensource solution is Norton Ghost.

I've been having alot of luck with openvpn it's ssl based rather than
ipsec. I have found it to be easier to setup and less confusing and
it has clients for various platforms including windows...which is not
always the easiest platform to use IPSEC with unless you go with a
commercial client.
Last time I tried Cinelerra it was not what I would call production
ready and feature wise it can not replace Premier. However if you
want to test it out see the following link for instructions on how to
use portage and correctly deal with masked packages.
