It sounds like you request a Photoshop-like tool without digging any
deep into GIMP.

Funnily enough the upcoming advanced selection tool in CS5 does more
or less what refining brush for SIOX from GSoC09 does :)

I'm afraid not. I tried it, and it seems quite slow, and doesn't have a live
preview.

Somebody just told me that Photoshop has a similar tool. I found a
