We go back to '99 or '00 when we purchased IMail. We upgraded from 8.22 to ver 10 about 6 months ago and have had virtually no problems. The web admin interface works well along with their collaboration suite and instant messaging. For collaborative functionality I can certainly understand the desire for Exchange. Microsoft made it easy for small companies to bring up a mail server. Unfortunately many don't know how to run them. We've helped many a company straighten out their Exchange config issues, and serve as a filtering gateway for a number of them. There are a lot of reasons. Exchange fits certain business models and other mail systems fit other business models. We host multiple mail domains for clients, exchange just is not practical for our hosting environment. The comment "it seems that there are a lot of issues with imail each time a new patch, version or upgrade comes out." Couldn't you subsititute Exchange for Imail. We actually support numerous exchange servers for clients and we see plenty of issues with upgrades on exchange. Imail has features that are really nice and other features that could be strengthened. No offense taken! It is a cost issue, as we offer services to our membership at no additional charge. We've been on IMail since version 7. While I have been looking, the time hasn't been right to make a change. And other than the physical move that just took place, things have been working pretty good on my 8.x version (knocking on wood - I haven't had the nerve to upgrade).
