The idea would be to propose fully hyperlinked texts, using the
correct ps fonts. Many TeX installations do not have the necessary
tools to do that (I do not, anyway) and it requires a fair bit of
tweaking.

Finally, it would be the best way to provide the documentation for
people who do not have LyX installed, but would like to see what it's
like.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to open the docs up in LyX and export them as PS, 
then run ps2pdf on them? Just curious.
