I’ve seen the opposite, tracking showing an item in transit even though it was
delivered weeks ago.

Re: [neonixie-l] Re: For those with deep pockets...

2026-02-25 Thread Nicholas Stock
I've found eBay to be quite buyer friendly when it comes to issues with
items. However, they've thankfully been very rare and as Nick noted, it's
always a good idea to check their feedback rating!

The original Z568 tubes are some of the nicest out there though I
remember getting my hands on some from Ask Jan First almost 20 years ago...
they're still working fine. Not sure you could say the same about some of
the new tubes made these days...

Yeah I bought a Sony camera lens like that, got a tracking number same day
on a Tuesday, supposedly delivery on Friday to San Antonio from Miami. UPS
tracking number was active, showed delivery to someone named Winston at
'loading dock' which we do not have and nobody by that name here or in the
back where a glass company rents part of the building, and no UPS truck
came by that day at all. We have cameras. Seller was back and forth
between 'no longer registered' and the item sometimes couldn't be found in
Epay system. Weird. Epay tried to deny my case, saying seller provided
tracking and it showed delivery but I appealed right before calling the
credit card company, and Epay realized they'd better act so they refunded
me... Not sure how theycame up with an active UPS tracking that actually
showed movement in their system though. So always hedge by paying with a
CC not debit or bank acct, and save and screenshot everything.

Plus the coolness of supporting these guys who are making new ones vs
random ebay gouging.

They aren't worth that much though... even being rare to a decent degree.
Don't these tubes also have shorter lives? Maybe I'm thinking of their brother?

2020-01-06 Thread Dieter Waechter
Hi!
No, these are not so rare compared to others.
I collected about 30 pcs. of these and built the Nixie Queen Clock R (R = red)
with them.
OK, these was some years ago, but there are other Nixie Tubes more rare than
these.

Odd they are priced so high; maybe a rare tube?
IN-18's are 10mm taller (40mm) and list for around 50 USD each.
