I want to use a colored hairline, but can't get it working and can't find
anything to explain any options or parameters.
I've tried
\setuptextrules[rulecolor=red,color=red]
\hairline
or
\hairline[color=red]
Doesn't work

Hello ConTeXist.
Is there possibility move hairline in itemize environment to the leftto

Hi, I was also experiencing unexpected results when using a hairline in the
header.
I found this solution for a line (I think it's somewhere in the wiki):
\setupbackgrounds[header][text][frame=off, bottomframe=on,rulethickness=.5pt]
The drawback is, that you'll have to use

Works, but does penetrate the text area. See the attached image (I have

partially highlighted, running just above the lowercase letters).

Is there also a possibility to have 2 lines below the header with different

You can use TeX’s own mechanism to draw the rules or use MetaPost.

Hi,
Of course this is a very elaborate solution which comes in handy, if you want
special effects. however for the simple case of a rule you could also use just:
\setupbackgrounds[header][text][frame=off, bottomframe=on,rulethickness=1pt]

Thanks, that works. I wonder if you can configure this with \setupthinrules.
\setupthinrules[before=\vskip-0.8em] does no work.
Hm, if you use:
\setupthinrules[n=1, before=\vskip-0.8em]
\setupheader[text][after=\thinrules]
it can work.
However ConTeXt advises to use \blank instead

Hi,
I could not figure out how to add a hairline between two rows of a matrix.
Following example is compiling but only results in a bigger vertical space.
Infos/Hints are welcome...
\startformula \startmatrix
\NC {a_1 } \NC {a_2 } \NC {a_3 } \NC \ldots \NC {a_X } \NR

Dear Aditya
Thank you for your tip.
After adding the line \setupbackgrounds[header][text]
[bottomframe=on,topframe=on], I got lines of whole length.
However, [rule=on] option only draw vertical line as long as the
paragraph not to the bottom.
Please test once more using a short paragraph(3-4
