Dear Laura,Perhaps you are thinking of so-called stone- or mineral-paper.It is frequently printed and sold in rolls as gift wrap. Paper Source is one such purveyor among many. You can buy rolls of paper meant to seal the back of framed artwork.  I’ve
gotten both white and black from Amazon. I can’t find the links at the
moment but I bought it a few years ago.

You can buy tyvek in sheets and rolls with no printing on it.

Or maybe to you are thinking of Yupo? It is a synthetic paper made from 100% 
polypropylene.
