Run telepathy-sofiasip manually with debugging information: export TPSIP_DEBUG=all export TPORT_LOG=1 TPSIP_PERSIST=1 /usr/lib/telepathy/telepathy-sofiasip Then run Empathy with the SIP account and look at the output.
