Well I like the idea, but for a IT staff with as much technical
background as Truman's, it would probably be cheaper (and thus a
better ROI) to use a different distribution like perhaps Knoppix or
CollegeLinux tweaked for the campus.  One thing that I am championing
currently in my company is the use of antiquated equipment with PXES
linux (pxes.sf.net) to boot them as thin clients to a central citrix
server.  A 200Mhz machine with 64MB of RAM and no hard drive suddenly
becomes just as good for your average user as a machine 10 times the
size.
