Since you already know C++, I would advice you to learn Qt. Its cross-platform, free and feature rich. Also it has a wonderful IDE, documentation and support online. Hey there Srini, pleasure talkin to u.. um...ok my skill sets.. --i have a working knowledge of c, c++, java.. --i've learnt adobe after effects and adobe dreamweaver.. --i have a working knowledge of opengl n a basic knowledge of java3d.. um other than that, i like programming, but the sad part is i've not done much programmin as in the real thing...if u get what i mean...i'll be glad if u can help me start off.. As such I have discontnued ubuntu since even email typed in kannada does not display whereas in windows perfectly displayed. I have tried with scim-m17n - but I could not succeded to install phonetic key layout for Kannada. I shall be more happy to have single phonetic keyboard for all Indian Languages similar to baraha or Microsoft Input Tool(beta). for benefit of Linux users of all Indian Lang.
