The basic model of the child list as associative list would be
unaffected. Also, this is extremely easy to implement, since the code
for parsing and following paths is more or less the same either way.

Another possible mechanism would be to use the vobject source to look up
the correct context to use. In either case context would presumably be
implemented as a vobject with a child property for each parameter.

as a deliberately open-ended design,
VOS has more potential for long term evolution.
That said, this does put a kink in some of our plans. I'll follow up

Sketchup would be a good one I think, it's really easy to use and is
becoming popular and well known through its association with Google Earth.
