Hello,
Is there any way to get kuroo working with portage with cdb module?

Greetings,
Using kuroo, sometimes I get a notice such as: QA Notice: Package has
poor programming practices which may compile fine but exhibit random
runtime failures. Any idea what trigers such as message?

Thanks.

It's not from kuroo. It's from portage. It's
and emerge depclean's. I can't even get rid of them in kuroo,
in fact kuroo shows the files are still installed?
how do I get rid of these ghosts

Well, if portage thinks a package is installed, then normally you can simply
unmerge it. If the unmerge fails for some reason

there is a big
difference. It's eupdatedb which takes a very long time compared to
update-eix.
Is this getting to the point of ferocity of the legendary emacs vs. vi

At this rate, I'm inclined to recommend Kuroo to all of you. I've

See if any new versions of *installed* software are available.

For these tasks I use Kuroo (for KDE, http://tux.myftp.org/).
I know where is something similar for GNOME too.

I have a feeling that, given people who extensively discuss the merits of
esearch vs. eix, you're
and emerge eix .Eix is a great tool.
As for Portage (X-based) GUIs, I don't use them, but AFAIK the most
mature of them is Kuroo. I don't know of text-based interfaces, I
remember me and some guy on the ML planned to write one but never did.

To *look* at emerge.log, one uses less. Or more. Or most.
Never ever ever does one use a text editor to look at a log.
However, this is almost certainly a bug in kwrite, or kwrite has been
on them. You can see lists of packages
at http://packages.gentoo.org/ or via the package Kuroo,
a front-end for Portage which resembles the Mandriva pkg-management tool.

Might wanna take a look through the stuff in app-portage/ before you

Kuroo is nice, however, portage still lacks the pure brilliance of

Well, on Debian-like systems I absolutely *love* Synaptic. To me, it's
what a user-friendly package manager should look like.
I have only very little experience with Portage GUIs. Problem, it seems,

Does anyone know if there are any
miracle found media-fonts/ (was
using Kuroo, which organizes things like media/fonts, so I didn't look
