I'm just now learning how to compile and install manually. I
installed makemkv-1.4.1 manually and now I found an ebuild so I'd like
to install the latest version via the ebuild, but I get:
# make uninstall
make: *** No rule to make target `uninstall'. Stop.
The makefile doesn't mention
to install MakeMKV. Then you can either rip BD-ROM discs or
stream the content and play it with something like VLC.

I found in net were (a) badly documented, (b) confusing
and/or (c) Ubuntu oriented.

for watching all this stuff and haven't had any problems that I
couldn't overcome pretty easily.
Since I don't want to run VMWare, mine goes (Netflix+makemkv)+Hulu
Plus+Amazon Prime. Loving it, although this new Amazon problem is a

For blurays I'd try ddrescue as well. Blocksize for those is 65536. I
think.
Based on your physical drive / the disc, it might whine or break because
of DRM, or you can get weird read errors as well. That's why dvdbackup
is best imo since it will auth the drive as well.
MakeMKV
optical media as it is able to directly send SCSI
commands. Note that readcd implements the error recovery from sdd(1), that
exists since 35 years and I also prefer for normal disks.
That's way cool to know. MakeMKV does the same thing - it rips stuff
directly using SCSI commands, and you have to have

Let's try to remove this thorn, in case we might be able to:
Emerge rtmpdump:

packages I need that in the Gentoo world would have caused me ~arch
problems. (Mixbus32C, makemkv, handbrake and other pro-audio type packages)
