g sshd, I didn't have to do any configuration and it just *worked*. I've, like, never ever had that happen before. Even when I set up my tigervnc with xinetd it was days of experimenting before I got it to work. tigervnc also was hanging up X upgrades, so now I can successfully ditch tigervnc. x2go

[gentoo-user] Xvnc/vncviewer: Keyboard repeat does not work?!

2014-10-11 Thread meino . cramer
Hi, to access my Beaglebone Black (embedded system) easily, here in the list I got the hint (*THANKS*) to use xvfb/xvnc/vncviewer(tigervnc). Everythings works fine...except for the keyrepeatiton. Regardless how heavily I hammer down the key...it does not work ;) Since everything else works

l stays internal on the work network. I do something similar at work for our Windows clients, it was simple to set up there. I've set up my home server to act as a Windows-type terminal server using X and tigervnc. It actually works well, but I never got into multiuser and dealing with logon scripts and the like (you may or may not need this to deal with user documents and the like.) Dan

needs to be installed on the remote system. But I do believe you need something installed on the remote system to listen for nx/vnc requests anyway. I switched to x2goserver/x2goclient maybe two years ago from xvnc/tigervnc as it was getting to be a real chore to install again xorg-x11 at the time.
