hi all;
I need some help on this one:
I can't emerge audacity.
If I try to do it, it first pulls wxGTK 2.4.2-r4, and then complains
about wxGTK being compiled with unicode support. So it tells me to
re-emerge wxGTK with USE=-gtk2.
If I do this, then wxGTK complains. So I have to emerge

Hello all!
I am trying to emerge wxGTK-2.6.2 with -X use flag (that should install
only wxbase -non-gui libs- ) but it stills trying to emerge gtk+. In
wxGTK-2.6.1 you can use -gtk2 and -wxgtk1 USE flags to avoid this to be

.
And if you emerge wxGTK, the unicode-use-flag triggers the build of the
unicode-aware version of wxGTK.
So in general, i prefer my console- and my X11-apps to have unicode
support. So i have the use-flag turned on, but i disabled it for
baselayout since i use a non-utf8 locale.

Hi,
Did you try revdep-rebuild, and/or rebuild wxGTK ?
I tried but it doesn't change anything..

What value is your MAKEOPTS set to?
I have tried -j1 to rule out parallel compilation issues, but it
didn't help.
Here's all the 'thread.h' header files I seem to have on my system:
using packages that rely on it. 2014 is a
long time ago for any major package like this. I would expect crashes and
instability with such apps. If I really need it, I would find another way to
get the latest versions of wxPython and wxGTK installed. Maybe an overlay has
that set up. Or you can bui
not fetching webkit-gtk from the repo? I've just had to
compile it from source, even though nothing in /etc/portage/ refers to it
(except for wxGTK depending on it). Therefore I assume i meet the conditions
for using the binpkg, but apparently not.
Clues, anyone?

And if you emerge wxGTK, the unicode-use-flag triggers the build of the

So in general, i prefer my console- and my X11-apps to have unicode

Hello,
Recently I went to emerge ipodder, a program I've never used before but
was interested in trying out. Unfortunately it had a dependency on

which in turn wanted me to upgrade my entire Xorg installation

I didn't make any USE changes except what was necessary to get the system
working. Here is the entirety of my USE flags:

Right, Ignoring all the kde and media stuff in the revdep-rebuild -p

In answer to the other question, I'm using portage-2.1.2.11
