According to the Lexmark website this is what you need to do in order to use
the scanning function-

"Scanning -- When scanning a document to the PC, the Medley's date should be
reset to a pre-2000 year prior to launching the FAXsynergy PC application.
When scanning operations are complete, the Medley's date should again be
reset to the current date. Consult the Medley's User's Guide for assistance
in resetting the date. "
