I have a PIII; 256, 700 Mhz, use win 98, seti graphic and Seti Monitor 3.36 (caching 10 Wu's at a time) - using or not using other programmes, anything from Kazaa to ICQ, or games doesn't seem to make a discernable difference...caching wu's has brought me down down by an average of almost 2 hours from 13.8 to just over 12, sometimes under... If I've read everyhing right, it's got more to do with the system you've bought, and the relationship between L1 and L2 systems... Seti can be hard on available memory, but seems good at taking a back seat when other functions are running...without having to do anything. The only thing that bothers me is that lately I have one (and one only) error message - I processed a WU that returned a peak of 0 which generated the message that I am overclocking my system (in which case, it's nothing I think I did, it goes back to the manufacturer) Does anyone know how to read this, and whether it is the WU or my system??? Give me another month or so, and I may feel comfortable enough (and bored enought with sky maps and graphics) to run seti as a command line...
