If you think it's a fueling issue then don't bother trying to read the stock O2 sensor. They're junk for accurate fueling. My case example. I have a 87 ShelbyZ with a 2.5, SMEC, +40's blah blah blah. I was trying to get the voltage of the stock O2 to read higher than it was reading which was .82 via the OTC scanner even though the Narrow Band (NB) O2 sensor gauge was showing 9 lights. So I starting upping the fuel curve at WOT. I added 10% and got it to read .88v. Ok add 10% more, no change, add another 10%, still no change. I then installed a wideband O2 kit. Guess what that extra 30% of fuel is actaully reading.... It pegged the wideband at over 9:1 a/f ratio! Even though the stock O2 wouldn't run over .88v and the NB gauge was still reading 9 lights. I ended up taking 40% fuel out of the WOT table to get it to read 11.6-12.0:1 ratios. If you're gonna play around with the fuel and boost you need to have something more accurate than the stock O2. All it does is tell the ECU if it's on the rich or lean side of Stoich. Nothing more. I have an Innovate XD-16 setup. It has a nice gauge, the WB controller and sensor. It has two programmable outputs. One to do with what you want and the other I feed to the ECU to simulate the stock O2 guage's output. I even tweaked it so when the car is running in closed loop it looks for stoich at 16.3:1 instead of 14.7:1 but the ECU thinks it's at 14.7:1. As soon as the car hits boost I have the ECU tweaked to go into open loop and ignore the O2 completely. The MPG is impressive with the car, and the power is back although I haven't had a chance to get to the track to tell me what my butt is feeling.

Anyway don't trust the Stock O2 or it's readings. A basewideband kit is $179. Not too bad. And you can watch the virtual gauge on the laptop so you don't even need a guage to watch it. All of my turbo cars will be getting this. Heck with gas prices if I had an N/A car I'd put one on there too.

Subject: SD> W.O.T. flat spot

All,
I have a wide open throttle stall in 2nd or 3rd gear.
It will recover if I let off the gas slightly.
It also did it with a MP Stage 2 computer.
It just does not feel as strong as my stock CSX-T.

I've pieced this together from parts in boxes that came in the car.
87 CSX, stock block and computer
with MP head, slider cam. Not sure about lift.
3 inch, no cat.
A.F.P. set at 50psi and I think it's got 20% injectors.
12-14 vacuum, boosts to 10 just fine.
I've checked and double checked vacuum lines.
My guess is I have to drop the fuel pressure somewhat.

The OTC diag/code box I have will not read the O2 sensor
with it's current software. I'm connection to the cable on the right
front by the MAP. I have not connected a volt meter or gauge to
the O2 wire yet.

Q#1 Any Ideas or suggestions, things to look at before I dig into it again?

Q#2 What type of diag/code box will read 87 electronics?

Thanks in advance.
