Hi friends, This is Vinod Kulkarni, currently in Persistent Systems, Pune. After my bachelors, I was at IITB for about 7 years for my research in computer architectures, but was thouroughly distracted by our favourite Linux. Have always been a techie, and though I now find myself more on suits side, I still control my own life. Simputer will be an interesting beast to watch. I hope that a lot of manufacturers will get interested in this, and hope it will do a linux in hardware world. Also Interesting to note that unlike other designs, the device itself wouldn't have any persistent state by design. Though it currently supports smart cards, we can expect that it will eventually move on to media cards etc. This will have interesting design issues in the application software development. We should be able to discuss all that in this platform. In the applications segment, I am primarily interested in looking at making P2P the core of the application architecture. So hoping good times ahead! -Vinod
