Running CPU intensive jobs on cvs.apache.org is discouraged. I think
Craig McClannahan is performing nightly builds for a couple of
projects on a machine of his and publishes them via cvs.apache.org,
you could ask him to build Slide as well.

Until about a year ago Gump was run on a private machine by Sam Ruby
and Sam published nightly builds for some projects as a side effect.
It is very likely that Slide was one of them since the last build of
Slide is as old as the last one for Ant, one of the projects I know
for sure has been built by him.

Recently the Gump team has started to experiment with a nightly build
system on brutus.apache.org, a Debian GNU/Linux (that's the official
name, isn't it?) machine that the Gump PMC is responsible for. The
system is already publishing nightly builds for Excalibur and soon for
Ant. You could ask for a nightly build for Slide as well, but give
Leo Simmons - the guy behind the system - some time. Unfortunately I
won't be able to help too much since I'll start my summer vacation
this weekend.
