Prison Time Not For Planting Mums
An 18-year-old Memphis, Tenn.,
man will spend up to two years in prison for not planting mums. David Alan
Waters was found guilty of vandalism and sentenced to two years in prison but
the judge suspended the sentence and placed him on probation. The probation
required Waters to pay fines, do 30 days of weekends in jail, perform 200 hours
of community service, attend alcohol rehabilitation and replace the flowers he
vandalized. However, one of the homeowners said the mums were replanted -- but
not by Waters, reports WREG-TV in Memphis. Since Waters violated the terms of
his probation he was sent to prison.
