 pppd exits below because I manually ran pingtest to  clean out and 
restart the link. Otherwise it just sits there running but not actually

Well, that's all I have so far . I have experimented with verbosity 
level 2 as well but that produces monstrously large log sections that 
are difficult to put into a ng post and also require some sanitizing.
