Some info on Organon and their drug Pavulon: Organon is actually a Dutch company. Organon USA (375 Mt Pleasant Ave; West Orange, NJ 07052: 1 800 241-8812) is the US subsidiary of Organon NV, based in the Netherlands. Their main website is at http://www.organon.com The origin of this corporation, as told by the site: "Formed as a spin-off of a meat-processing firm based in Oss, The Netherlands more than 75 years ago in 1923, today Organon is the largest Dutch research-based pharmaceutical company and the largest pharmaceutical business unit of Akzo Nobel. The number of employees has grown to nearly 10,000 and the company is active in more than 100 countries with its own affiliates in 55." Pavulon is a trade name for the generic drug pancuronium bromide, a derivative of the South American arrow poison curare. The drug is used in some surgeries and other procedures to paralyse the patient's muscles. In lethal injection execution, Pavulon is injected after the sedative sodium pentothal has been administered and before the dose of potassium chloride (which stops the heart). The Pavulon renders the prisoner completely unable to move and paralyses the diaphragm -- causing suffocation. Some state execution protocols specify Pavulon -- as opposed to the generic drug -- as one of poisons to be used in killing prisoners. This is why abolitionists are pressing Organon for a statement against the use of their products to commit deadly violence. I'll post more info as I find it.
