Ginger, I could really connect with what you were saying. I only found MOT by accident and then STW, and of course Reading with Meaning. My problem was how to fuse all of the strategy work with my basal reader. Every night I would diligently read the listserve and visit links that were suggested. I've become known as the "internet queen". I'm curious if my 2nd graders will use their strategies next year. I'm hoping for the day the 3rd grade teachers come and say "what are your kids talking about...schema, connections, predictions, stamina...I would be in heaven. My kids were begging to read last year. This year I'm planning to delve deeper into the strategies, and I'll be looking for help from all of you experts! Thanks for your support.
