[STW2Chat] active literacy and strategies as tools

We (I'll speak for both of us for a moment) are thrilled to read the 
conversation about strategies as tools for understanding and the many responses 
to the idea of active literacy--all day and every day.  As I work in schools 
with kids and teachers, this has become the main emphasis of our work together- 
reading and thinking across the curriculum.  I'm eager to hear more about all 
the creative ways in which people are focusing on reading in science, history, 
social studies, etc. etc.  

At any rate, just wanted to say hello and chime in with enthusiasm for this 
ongoing conversation... more later!
