Bonita,
The Toolkits were purchased for all our teachrs in grades 3-6. We, too,
had difficulty with the length. Teachers did as you did--broke down the
lessons over time.
Another problem was the material that comes with the kits; I had to
"ASSIGN" certain strategies to specific grades. Teachers were supposed to
keep a list of materials used, but we never had time to gather the
information. This year should be interesting since teachers will be
searching for materials that are different for each grade.
How did you handle the material aspect of it.
The teachers who used the Toolkit really liked it; when I modeled I tried
to bring in other material. All teachers are supposed t use it, but I'm
not sure it is being done. That's an issue that principals need to deal
with.
