Hi all I draw the first sphere gnomon some years ago (the first was the frog in 2002) and I've an old project I've never realized. It need a lot of spheres and if they are cheap is a good point. Usually the sphere may be imagined in a virtual cone with a vertex angle the double of the latitude. I'd like to realize a multiple sundial with a sphere for different cities, where every sphere shows the time to sunset and from sunrise for a city. In this case the vertex angle is the double latitude of the city, the axis is always the polar one and it is necessary to draw the hour lines taking into account the difference of longitude. I think it would be interesting to read what is the different daylight condition in cities all over the world. If someone may consider this idea I'll be happy to collaborate with formula and pictures or 3D movies. Now there are the spheres.
