Hello David, As I understand it: For SunRay/VDI you need:A right to use license per "concurrent user" which I assume to be "per sunray".
You may then also buy: Premium or basic support per sunray per year. I have seen no Oracle pricing for this yet. Then you need Solaris which is preinstalled or can be downloaded free of charge.
You may then also buy: A service plan (hardware + OS support) Platinum, gold, silver or bronze support for Solaris per server. See: http://www.sun.com/service/serviceplans/sunspectrum/index.jsp Or if you don't use Sun hardware. You can buy: A solaris subscription (Software only support) http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/supportv2.jsp#table So the answer to your question is: No.If you buy only a SRS/VDI right to use license, you don't have any support at all. And you may use Solaris anytime, also without a SRS/VDI right to use license.
I hope this will help you get your support contracts up to specs. Ivar David Bullock schreef:
OK, so if I buy SRS/VDI licences, does that: * entitle me to any SRS-related support from Sun? * entitle me to use Solaris for the purpose of running SRS? * entitle me to any Solaris-related support from Sun? thanks, David. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list SunRay-Users@filibeto.org http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
