I think #4408 is quite important for few reasons:
a) I doubt it is only the journal that is broken. Maybe all the
FDSTORE services.
b) Things are not recovering if journald crashes. You will end up
having no logs from all the services that connect to journal directly.

I didn't have time to figure out when things went south.
