It is staging a big exhibition which will preview at the 'Knitting & Stitching' show London and Harrogate in Oct and Nov 2003. The full exhibition will then tour three museums (Leicester, Bowes and Exeter) starting in November 2003 until summer 2004. This will be a high profile event (39,000 visitors to the 'Knitting & Stitching London venue in 2000) and it is hoped that this opportunity can be used to inspire, encourage and educate others about braids and narrow wares. The exhibition will be covering many aspects of this area: techniques, history, geography, cultural, usage etc. There will also be a section on contemporary work. This is open to all makers of braids and narrow wares (including Tabletweaving and non-Braid Society members).
