 I think one of the most
confusing things about tabletweaving is understanding threading and what S/Z
means.  If you've got that sorted out then all you need do is make sure all
the colours are in the right holes, and you're pretty well set.
And, just to make things complicated, there are currently two different 
(and equally valid) approaches to defining S & Z.  The trouble is, S for 
one of the definitions works out to Z for the other (and of course vice 
versa).  If I were you, I'd go with the definition in Peter Collingwood's 
book (Techniques of Tablet Weaving).  If you don't have that book, that's a 
good place to start--you'll get it all there, history, technique, designs, 
fabric analysis, etc. It's the tablet weaver's Bible.  (You can pay me for
