1. Do not let them tie the warp to their big toe, or bare foot unless
wearing shoes, lest they manage to cut off circulation and feet rapidly
turn blue.
Either the have
to where shoes, or turn a low table upside down and let them arrange
themselves around. They like this cause it makes talking easy and
the event become very social and even more fun - you will like it because
it keeps them more or less in one place <G>
2. Never under estimate the power of the Mag Pie Factor - Have LOTS of
colors and glitzy threads - try not to visibly cringe with some of the
choices they make.
Somehow they do
turn out rather well, if perhaps a bit more electric than you might have
chosen.
Don't Forget
BEADS for those who actually finish to use for embellishment.
3. Be cheerful about errors. Yes they exist, but learn the Mantra _
DON"T WORRY, No one will be able to see it on a Dark Night From City
Hall and you WILL do better next time (but be prepared for the
perfectionist who will want to do it over.
4. Everyone gets to bring a CD of their choice, YOU get to choose when to
change CD's or shut off the music so you can demonstrate.
5. Try not to laugh to hard at their mistakes they just don't have that
much of a sense of humor yet
last but not least, for the SCA purists <tic> Polyester *can*
be Period if it is the "right" color
Hope you all have as much fun as I do
The "Ah HA" moments are the best kind of reward.
Safe & Happy Holiday Weekend
