Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques Hi Ellen! It's fun, isn't it? :)
Just checking before I send any other mail, as, since I joined the list at the end of June, I haven't received any digests.
This list is often pretty quiet. The SCA-specific tablet weaving list is more active. (The Society for Creative Anachronism, a Middle Ages recreation group, is very into medieval tools and techniques. Or at least, some of the members are.) If you don't mind a historical slant, and we do discuss plenty of techniques, materials, and such, you are welcome to join that list as well, at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SCA-Card-Weaving/ Sorry, don't know any sources for crochet yarns on cones. It's usually mostly the weaving yarns that come put-up that way. You might try looking for a similar weaving yarn that you like. Most online yarn vendors will send you a sample card so you can look and touch, sometimes for a small fee.
