In what way does it no longer work? I've just run Hiroaki's
example from

and it seems to work, albeit without any use of biblatex.

As long as you're willing to replace any \addspace commands
in your scores by \mxaddspace. This certainly won't be true
for everyone, so I'm not going to make that change in the
distributed musixtex.tex.
