Installation, Editing Files to Point to database

Questions from my system admin about installing TILT:

http://tilt.lib.utsystem.edu/yourtilt/mysql.html

refers to a windows mysql installation (c:\mysql\bin).

We have Solaris (Unix). I would assume that this would be the
equivalent on our Unix system.

/opt/sfw/mysql/bin

Also, the docs mention files that have to be edited to point to the
database...yet I do not see the files they are referring to or need
editing [Would these be in the Stats Folder?].

I've installed MySQL driven packages before http://moodle.org and
http://phpwebsite.appstate.edu come to mind, both have excellent
installation instructions or manuals.

Do you know of any other resources for installations instructions?

Any help would be appreciated!
