How did you install Python / SVN?

The package you need is in pkgsrc:
- if you were using pkgsrc, then it would be a matter of
cd /opt/pkgsrc/devel/py-subversion && bmake install
- however, pkgsrc currently only provides python 2.4.4


You could either go back to python2.4.4 - or build the bindings  
yourself.
