commit changes in trinux ?

Hi All

I have worked with Linux Router Project.
When the files are edited, then I run the backup utility 
to commit the changes to the diskette.

How do I do the same with Trinux ?

Also to edit the IRQ and Address for NIC,
one doc reports I need to edit the modules file.
Another says I should edit the etc/conf.modules.

Which do I edit ?
