Migrate tdk from 2.2 to 2.3

Hi,

My web application was developed in tdk2.2.(troque-3.0, velocity1.3). I
need some suggestions on upgrade. I read in the forums saying now tdk is
no more support and everyone are going to MAVEN. Can anyone put in right
directions whether I need to upgrade to 2.3 or go for MAVEN. Also I need
instructions on how to upgrade my current applications.
