Rarely are Americans given a chance to see the inside world of Cuban
President Fidel Castro. To some he is a champion of the poor and
powerless; to others he is a ruthless dictator. This new documentary
film offers a unique opportunity to view the man through exclusive
footage with Castro himself, historians, public figures and close
friends. The film shows his rise to power as a revolutionary, from
student leader to Cuban leader. Captured on camera is Fidel joking
with Nelson Mandela, Ted Turner and Muhammad Ali, meeting Elian
Gonzalez and celebrating his birthday with the Buena Vista Social
Club. Called "Rousing!" by the New York Times, Fidel
tells a previously untold story and presents a new view,
unapologetically pro-Castro, of this powerful and compelling figure.
