I think this will be good news for everyone! Bill 92 is the Nutter-DiCicco bill which the coalition of business and community groups favored. The march must have had an effect for it to have been *unanimously* voted out of committee. Unanimously!!! I'm not sure if "final passage" is as assured as this message from the Chamber of Commerce suggests, but things are way better than they were a week ago. For those of you who wrote letters or sent emails, thanks! And thanks to our small but determined UC contingency who marched! Melani Lamond
--- Begin Message ---Through your hard work and consistent messages, City Council today unanimously voted out Bill 92. It will have first reading tomorrow at City Council session and 2nd reading and final passage the following week. It will then go to the Mayor for his signature. Councilwoman Jannie L. Blackwell graciously withdrew her bill on the wage tax, Bill 144. Thank you letters and or phone calls to all members of City Council will be very appropriate right now.--- End Message ---
