Just a reminder:

Negotiations between the two civilian unions (DC 33 and DC 47) are coming to
a head, and there may be movement one way or another in the next few days.
Both unions are now working without a contract.

As long as no strike is declared, you can expect that recycling will take
place as scheduled at the Firehouse Farmers Market. (e.g., this coming
Saturday Aug 21)

However, for the next few days or weeks and until an agreement is reached,
everyone should pay close attention to the news: if a strike is called there
will be NO recycling at the Firehouse Farmers Market while the strike is on.

[Editorial side note: the major media have produced remarkably little
coverage of the talks, which have been going on intermittently since the
beginning of July.]

Let's all hope for a good outcome from the talks.
