Hi Everyone, Over the last several weeks, there have been a series of house break-ins which fit a pattern. Please be alert to this and pass this information on to your blocks. The offenders pose as contractors and choose houses which are having renovation work done to them or which appear to be vacant. The breakins occur predominantly in the late afternoons. The perps are looking for architectural details like mantels, stained glass and in one case a staircase! In one instance a house which was vacant during the day while the owners were at work but looked uninhabited because the blinds were all drawn was also singled out. If any home on your block is affected the police of course have to be called. Please tell the owners to also call John Fenton at the University City District who is trying to coordinate this information over our entire area. He can be reached at 215-243-0555.
