Hi, Microsoft has created a utility to speed up installing hotfixes: Qchain has been available for some time (use the latest version! http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=815062 ) It ensures the files from different hotfixes do not overwrite the correct (=latest) version, if the same file is installed by different hotfixes, thus making the order of hotfixes less critical. Added bonus is removing the requirement to reboot between hotfixes. just install the hotfixes one after the other, suppressing the reboot with a commandline switch, run qchain and reboot.
Why isn't Qchain included in the various hotfix and update scripts?
