Bad news, I’m afraid. What is the intended usage of your font? Music score applications? others? The overall problem with musical notation is, there is no comprehensive character encoding standard and no generally working text and layout composing method established. In the light of that fact it is hopeless to make fonts for this. The fonts are not the problem (yes they are, there is no solid encoding scheme available), but the lack of composing syntax is the crux you’ll hardly overcome. If you need to cater for a specific usage scenario you’ll end up with a complete hack anyway (however it may look like, doesn’t matter). Good luck!
