In preperation for my legal defense, I want to expose this incredible falsehood publicly! It's from the FOCP web site. It seriously impacts all the ridculous misinformation about access to closed FOCP committees that you've received. This is an example of why FOCP has lost all credibility as an organization. (only 8 people showed up in support of their last general election while the auditorium was filled with supporters of a targeted group) Fact: The President of FOCP can ban any member of the association from any committee. I proved that publicly before the dog park vote. The proof was conclusive. Another fact and anecdote about FOCP committees: When the FOCP members once ordered their leaders, via motion from the floor, to allow a proposal to be presented for their consideration, they publicly voted with the understanding that A SPECIFIC FOCP member would form and chair an ad hoc committee: to propose a simple process to invite park stakeholders to important meetings. Fact: At the President's discretion, he may decree that an ad hoc committee "must be chaired by a board member." The FOCP president has the power to silence anyone, even when the majority of members have publicly ordered the leaders to allow the specific discussion. Of course, nothing in the by laws prevents ad hoc committees from being led by non-board members. (I have the written record of the occurrence.) Silencing anyone outside of public view: The inner circle of FOCP had verbally opposed the membership's motion, to enhance inclusiveness, on the grounds that their board volunteers were too busy. When I VOLUNTEERED to do all the work myself, the members overwhelmingly approved the motion and I became the chairmen to form the committee! Key point: The President informed me that Mr. West would take over my proposal only after the public meeting!! He waited until he received my thank you letter with an initial outline of the plan! He informed me that Tony West would be the chairmen and cited the false rule. Later, Mr. West assigned my role to pass out FOCP membership forms, and I have been banned from delivering my promised presentation to the members since that time!!! Don't believe that you will be allowed a voice in any fair process because you pay the FOCP!!! Don't believe the FOCP web site. (Note: The web person from FOCP probably does not know the falsehoods being provided by the inner circle.)
